There are a large number of Bollywood songs in existence that express the feelings of jilted lovers. The degree of frustration depends upon the degree of jolt that the spurned lover gets from his beloved.

I have read a lot about this song called “Hum matwaale naujawaan”. I was not much aware of this song. In fact, there is another song with similar lyrics sung by Rafi and Mukesh from a 1961 movie which itself is called “Hum matwaale naujawan”. People like me tend to classify bollywood songs simply between sad and happy songs. But there could be so many variations to each of these themes. For instance, sad songs could have so many shades. Mukesh has sung so many sad songs, and they all are different from each other.

As sad songs go, Mukesh was unparallelled. And it is very difficult to say which of his sad songs were the best.
