It is one of the iconic songs of 1970s. It is the title song of the movie “Chalte Chalte”. It was a small budget off beat movie. The lead actors in this movie were Vishal Anand ( credited as Vishal in the movie), Simi Garewal and Nazneen.

Sonik and Omi who were mama and bhanja acted as assistants to many music directors viz Madan Mohan etc. It was in later half of 1960s that they started out as independent music directors.

“Aar Paar” was one movie that launched O P Nayyar as a music director and he ruled the roost as a music director for the next few years, during which he introduced new kind of music than what was being composed till then.

These days, movie makers spend huge amounts trying to promote their movies, and still there is no guarantee that their promotions have any effect at the box office. All the songs and dances shown in these promos are often ineffective.

“Karz” of 1980 was a musical blockbuster. Though many fans were not aware about it, but most tunes in that movie were lifted from western tunes, including the most popular ” meri umar ke nauzawaanon”. I have mentioned that S D Burman, the music director tended to sing a song in his movies. Typically these songs used to be a philosophical/ introductory song played at the beginning of the movie with the credits and the spectators still rolling in.
